Purim & Abba's Birthday

Hi there -

Hope that this post finds you well. We had a busy and tiring week! Our Purim was fun, but took a bit of a turn when Joel started to develop a migraine headache. They always seem to happen at the worst times! So, poor Joel was stuck in bed for most of the afternoon, while I took the kids to a neighbour's Purim seudah (meal/party). We were actually supposed to hop around to 3 different seudahs, but we ended up only making it to 2 of them. Joel started to feel better by late afternoon and we headed to his Rabbi's seudah to end off the day. I think Gavi ate more junk food on Purim than he has in his whole 3 years of existence. But hey, it's just one day a year - right - so I decided to let him have his fun and enjoy.

Joel celebrated the big 30 this past week. We had a little party for our fam at the house and then Joel and I headed to this cute place called Rishimu to hear some music. For those of you who know Montreal, it reminds me of an Israeli version of the Yellow Door. We met our friends Leah and Izey there who are visiting from TO. It was so great to reconnect with them and finally meet baby Elon!!

There is a funny story behind this one. Gavi fell asleep in the stroller with a hamentaschen in his hand. When we got home, Koby crawled over to the stroller, stood up and took it away from sleeping Gav. He was very proud of his find.

It's Been Way Too Long...

Dear family and friends, I hope that you are all well. It has been ages since I updated the blog. I don't think this even qualifies as a blog anymore, but I thought it would be nice to put up another post before our summer visit. I'm sorry that I have been so irregular with my posts this year. I found life to be really hectic trying to manage a job, the kids and the house. So, the blog fell to the bottom of my to do list. What's new with us? I recently finished my first year of teaching! It was a great experience, but it definitely kept me busy. I really enjoyed the work and got some great feedback from my students and the principal. I am hoping to teach some of the same classes again in the future and hopefully this will cut down on my workload. Joel is doing great and has started to learn at The Mir yeshiva in the mornings. UPDATE

Welcome to my blog! I'm pretty excited about it! I've decided to try out the blog thing as a way of keeping in touch with our family and friends around the world, while we are living in Yerushalayim. Hopefully, I will update it weekly with pics and updates from the week. So here's a quick sumup of the last month.... After bouncing around from one short term rental to another we found an apartment that we are really happy with. Funny enough it's in the same building as last year, it's a little smaller, but much more modern (no peeling walls and stained carpets!) and much better laid out. We LOVE the neighbourhood and slowly the apt is starting to feel more like home. Friends from the neighbourhood have been super generous/helpful and we've been invited out for almost every shabbos meal so far! The boys are doing great! Gavi is speaking a mile a minute and is a character as always. I am still searching for a gan (daycare) for him, but hopefully somethin

Pesach Break

Hi Again, Hope that you had a wonderful holiday. Ours was really nice. We were invited out for most of the yom tov meals, which was really great. We were in Bayit Vegan at our friend Josie's place for the seder (yes only one!) and then spent the last day of yom tov at my cousin's peaceful home in the Shomron. The rest of our Pesach was spent eating matza, cheese, and yogurt, hanging out in parks, bbqing at gan sacher, and seeing live music. The kids particularly loved the music festival in the Old City. Check out the videos of them enjoying below. We are all doing great and loving the summer weather! Joel is still off so we are trying to go on a few outings before he returns to yeshiva. Stay tuned!
