Wrap-up

Image
Hi all, Hope you are well and enjoying the summer. We are all well and beginning to wrap things up here before we leave for Toronto in only ten days! I'm going to make this a short post, but give you some of the latest pics to tide you over. We have had a little excitement over the last few weeks. Gavi came down with a case of chicken pox - it was really mild since he had the vaccination. It was pretty inevitable since half his gan had it. He felt totally fine, but had about ten or so spots on his face, he did have to stay home though for the week. So, I decided I was going to use the time to potty train. Gavi did great and is dry most of the time - there are accidents and we are still working on #2 - but I'm pleased with his progress. Koby is great, but is STILL not walking! I think he is physically able to walk, but just doesn't have the need. He can stand by himself for minutes at a time and he's even taken about 4 steps consecutively when he thinks no one i...

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot!!

Image
Hi again, Hope that this post finds you well. I know that the blog has been on a major hiatus! I do apologize. I guess I just feel like we will be reconnecting with so many of you in person in just a month, so I don't have the discipline to update the blog. I know it's not the best excuse, but it's all I've got. It's super, crazy hot here!! Today was 37 degrees Celsius - this is not the norm - it's been hovering between 30 and 35 most days. In truth, I don't mind the heat at all and I'm getting used to sweating ALL THE TIME! To keep cool we've been going to pools, eating lots of homemade popsicles, and filling our afternoons with play dates and indoor activities. The boys are doing great. Koby has been through a rough bout of teething recently, accompanied with a cold. All four of his first set of molars have decided to pop through at the same time and he's been pretty cranky as a result. I guess it's better to get it over with all...

Bubbie Nellie's Visit

Image
Hi All, Hope you are well. Once again I find myself about a week or so behind in my posting. Hopefully I'll catch up soon. We had a wonderful visit with Bubbie Nellie. We pretty much did our regular stuff - parks, playing in the apartment and hangin' around town. It was so great having another set of hands and the boys loved having their Bubbie here. We all miss her and can't wait to see her (and everyone) in August. Whast else is up? I've decided to back off and leave potty training for a few weeks. Gavi has had some success, but he's just not that interested. He gets interested for a day or so and then doesn't really feel like using the potty. I've been bribing him with M & Ms, but that can only do so much. So, I'm going to leave it for a bit and give it another try in a few weeks. I really hope that he is trained by September! I am also beginning a job hunt....kind of exciting/scary, I am in the process of updating my resume and I'...

Gavi's Extravaganza

Image
Hi again, Hope all is well. I apologize that I am very behind in my posting. Life has just seemed a little busier than usual. As most of you know Gavi turned 3 a few weeks ago. So on Lag Baomer he had an upsherin (hair cutting party) in our home. For those of you that are not familiar with this tradition let me explain. There is a tradition to let a boy's hair grow until he turns three. Once he reaches this age his formal religious education begins and he starts to wear a kippa and tzitzis. This party marks the beginning of this process. At the party the boy's hair is cut (just a bit) by the guests and rabbis and he receives many brachas (blessings) as he embarks on this path. So you ask how did Gavi do with all of this - spotlight, people, scissors...? He was AMAZING! He was quite relaxed throughout the whole thing and it didn't bother him at all that a bunch of people were cutting his hair. He had a very serious expression on his face as different Rabeiim and g...
