Chanukah has come and gone

Image
Dear All, Hope that you are all well and enjoying the holidays. As I look at the date of my last post, I feel pretty awful. I know I promised I would be better at updating the blog... I don't know where the time has gone! We had a wonderful Chanukah break. The kids were both off gan for the week so I had the mornings to spend with them. I had to work in the afternoons, but we had enough time to get a special activity in each day. The kids really enjoyed lighting the candles each night with their respective menorahs that they made by hand at gan. They also really enjoyed getting some new toys (thank you Savta, Grandpa, Bubs and Bubbie Nellie), which helped entertain them throughout the week. I just finished the first semester of my teaching job at EIE. Overall it went well, and I now have a month off before the next semester starts, with the exception of the SAT instructor course (through the school) that I will be taking for a couple of days in January. I am looking forward

Sick, Sick and More Sick!

Hi All, Hope that you are well. We are doing pretty well except for the fact that both kids, and especially Koby have been sick on and off for the past 2 weeks! It started with a terrible stomach flu that lasted almost a week. Koby had no energy and visibly looked like he lost a bit of weight. He was better for about 3 days and then he caught another virus and had a fever once again. Not too much fun! Thank G-d both kids are healthy now and back at gan. So, I really don't have much to report on this end. We spent the last few weeks at doctors and relaxing at home trying to get better. Hopefully there will be some excitement for my next post. Lots of love to everyone, Rachel & Co. Koby wanting to be just like his big bro Chillin' on the couch with a video - one of the sick days. Gavi relaxing post bath Pre-shabbos grocery shop. Trust me this is VERY physically demanding! Getting ready for bed I really try to get more pics of the kids together but they are so not in

A LONG Overdue Update

Image
Hi All, Hope that this post finds you well. I am sorry for my lack of communication (via the blog) over the last few months. Life has just been hectic and I haven't be able to find the time to update all of you. So, I am turning over a new leaf and I really hope to post an update every week or two. I hope you can forgive me and still read up on our lives : ) Where to begin? So much has gone on since we arrived back from our trip to TO this summer. I think the biggest change is that I recently got a job teaching Economics to American high school kids that are in Israel for a semester. I am really enjoying it! Overall the job is great - good pay, transportation to and from the school, great students and a nice working environment. The biggest downside is the hours - they are in the afternoon, so I had to hire a babysitter to take care of the boys for a few hours in the afternoon 4 days per week. The babysitter is actually amazing and the kids really like her. Thank G-d the

Wrap-up

Hi all, Hope you are well and enjoying the summer. We are all well and beginning to wrap things up here before we leave for Toronto in only ten days! I'm going to make this a short post, but give you some of the latest pics to tide you over. We have had a little excitement over the last few weeks. Gavi came down with a case of chicken pox - it was really mild since he had the vaccination. It was pretty inevitable since half his gan had it. He felt totally fine, but had about ten or so spots on his face, he did have to stay home though for the week. So, I decided I was going to use the time to potty train. Gavi did great and is dry most of the time - there are accidents and we are still working on #2 - but I'm pleased with his progress. Koby is great, but is STILL not walking! I think he is physically able to walk, but just doesn't have the need. He can stand by himself for minutes at a time and he's even taken about 4 steps consecutively when he thinks no one i

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot!!

Hi again, Hope that this post finds you well. I know that the blog has been on a major hiatus! I do apologize. I guess I just feel like we will be reconnecting with so many of you in person in just a month, so I don't have the discipline to update the blog. I know it's not the best excuse, but it's all I've got. It's super, crazy hot here!! Today was 37 degrees Celsius - this is not the norm - it's been hovering between 30 and 35 most days. In truth, I don't mind the heat at all and I'm getting used to sweating ALL THE TIME! To keep cool we've been going to pools, eating lots of homemade popsicles, and filling our afternoons with play dates and indoor activities. The boys are doing great. Koby has been through a rough bout of teething recently, accompanied with a cold. All four of his first set of molars have decided to pop through at the same time and he's been pretty cranky as a result. I guess it's better to get it over with all
